Private Sick Notes

If you are unwell and not fit for work you are only able to take seven days off without a Doctor’s note. Your employer will require a sick note to be able to pay you Statutory Sick Pay( SSP). Some employers will require a Doctor’s note for periods less than seven days depending on their policy.

We are able to issue a sick note for you at a consultation if required. We use the new type of sick notes which allow us to:

• Sign you off sick if unfit for work
• Certify that you ARE fit for work (some employers require this)
• Certify that you are only  fit for work under certain restrictions such as:
  • Amended hours
  • Amended duties
  • Phased return to work
  • Work place adaptations

We can also issue special notes such as  - confirmation of illness leaving you unfit for school, exams, jury service etc.

Other types of note include ‘fitness to fly’ notes and also certification to fly whilst pregnant.
