Hayfever injections

Hayfever can be a huge problem for many of us during the summer months. It can affect work, exams, social life and sleep. It can ruin your summer.

Many patients are unaware of a simple injection which treats hayfever symptoms usually for the whole of your hayfever season. It is a single injection given at the start of your season and lasts for 3 months.

Most people have either an ‘early’ or a ‘late’ season for hayfever symptoms. Whichever you are, book in as soon as your symptoms start and get the injection. It will reduce or often eliminate the need for the tablets and sprays that you have probably been buying and is much more convenient.

You will get an appointment with the Doctor to check the injection is suitable for you and then it will be administered there and then. It takes effect after a couple of days.

You cannot have the injection if:

• You are pregnant or breastfeeding

• You have a severe viral infection e.g. Shingles

• You are a child or young adult who is still growing.
