Dana is a RELATE trained Couples Counsellor and offers help to those with Relationship difficulties later specialising in psychosexual therapy. She receives and offers independent supervision to therapists, and ‘raise awareness’ workshops for health professionals. She supports and subscribes to the BASRT code of ethics and
professional practice and a registered member of UKCP.

Psychosexual problems are the inability to enjoy a functional, mutual sexual activity with a partner, significantly affecting self confidence and personal relationships, and for single clients the problems associated in forming new relationships. The causes are many and varied are often precipitated by stress, illness (mental or physical), losses, lifestyle and change including childbirth. Some causes are due to past traumatic events, intimacy and attachment problems. It is very common, but least talked about.

Psychosexual Therapy is a professional and confidential specialist area of psychotherapy relieving distressing sexual and associated emotional problems in this most intimate and hidden pain in people’s lives. Suitable for individuals and couples, it recognises and works with the impact of relationship difficulties on the sex, and the impact of sex difficulties on the relationship. A thorough initial ‘history’ assessment sensitively explores the causes of the problem before any treatment is offered. No oral drug treatment, injections or medical examination is offered.
