I have found SelectGP are exceptional at this. I am left with a natural yet youthful look and my face is still expressive. Since undergoing back surgery in January 2006, I have suffered with chronic pain in my back and lower legs. Over the past five years I have undergone many procedures to try and ease my pain levels, however with little success, resulting in a family friend recommending Simon Berrisford at Select GP.

Having seen so many specialists I must admit, I was at first sceptical of any positive outcome. However making my first appointment was particularly quick and easy and I was seen within a week of my initial call. When I arrived at the clinic I was made extremely welcome and very soon felt that my health was important to them.

I have had several subsequent visits to Simon and his team. Each visit has been easy to book, the outcome has been impressively positive and I have been made to feel that it is important to them to tackle any health problems I have. For the first time since my back pain began I felt that someone was really listening and determined to help me improve my quality of life.

I went to see Dr Berrisford  - I have a very busy role and needed to see a Doctor when the time was convenient to me and my work schedule, the appointment times are more convenient and with faster access than my local GP.   I had a cyst on my head that wasn’t harmful but was getting larger and was bothering me. I have a low pain threshold and was concerned about this with regard to any procedure .  Simon was very attentive, explained exactly what my options were for treatment, he listened to my concerns and allayed my fears.  When I went back for the procedure he was considerate of my pain threshold plus my phobia of needles,  he talked to me throughout the procedure and made me feel relaxed.

All went well and at my follow up appointment it was confirmed that no further treatment was necessary = one happy patient.

Earlier this year I developed a rash of painful and unsightly blisters on my face.  I had no idea what they were and presumed I had developed an allergic reaction to a skincare product.   I run my own business and have a busy work schedule so could not afford the time to be off work, however the state of my skin made it difficult for me to carry on as normal; I operate in an image conscious industry so my appearance is important.

Rather than wait for an appointment with an NHS GP, I called Select GP and explained by symptoms over the phone. They asked me to send them some photographs of the breakout on my skin and then made arrangements for me to have an appointment that afternoon.  I was diagnosed with Shingles. I'm extremely grateful to Simon for seeing me and acting so quickly.  I managed to treat the illness at exactly the right time and with his advice and prescribed medication the blisters cleared up within four days and I was back at work in a week.  Had there been any delay, I could have risked permanent scarring on my face and a prolonged absence from work."

It was a lucky day that I came across Select GP because without their help and intervention I doubt very much whether I would still be here.   Following nine lots of brain surgery, some of which caused brain damage resulting in me losing half of my vision, I was in a bad way, feeling bullied and mistreated by a considerable number of NHS Doctors, Surgeons and Nurses.  Having suffered with mental health problems for nearly a decade this latest trauma did nothing to improve my wellbeing and in fact had done considerable damage leaving me suffering with Post Traumatic Stress.    Thankfully Dr.Berrisford was soon on the case and he has never given up on me even when I had given up on myself, not only has he improved my mental health but also he has found novel ways to help me deal with the pain caused by my Hydrocephalus when the surgical team had washed their hands of me and said there was nothing more to be done.  Select GP have given me my life back for which my family and I remain eternally grateful, Dr.Berrisford is one in a million and I would not hesitate to recommend his services.
